The 4 Day DietHow does The 4 Day Diet work?

As mentioned above, the beginning of the book focuses on the mental aspects of preparing, starting, and sustaining a successful diet. This part of the book has to be the most challenging. After all, who likes to face reality and embrace their shortcomings? The first few chapters are devoted to helping the reader become intimate with the following

  • BMI (Body Mass Index) chart
  • Assessing your body image
  • Assessing what's causing you to be overweight
  • Creating a journal with nothing but a notebook and something to write with

After reading the book cover to cover it's easy to see why the aforementioned is so important for achieving success. When the mental aspect of the diet is addressed, Dr. Smith introduces his proprietary Modular Eating Plan.

The Modular Eating Plan is a diet plan that is separated into 4 day segments.  Each segment contains specific types and quantities of foods.  The modular eating plan introduces a variety of choices and significantly reduces the chances of experiencing the boredom that is associated with most diet plans. You are rotating the types of foods you eat every 4 days. Here is a brief look at some of the plans:

The Smooth Module - This 4 Day segment is relaxed and allows you to eat foods such as hamburgers, pizza, fries, etc. WITHOUT overdoing it.

The PUSH Module - This 4 Day segment is designed to help you push your diet into second gear. Dr. Smith feels anyone can do almost anything for 4 days if they put their mind to it so this module would make an excellent short-term goal to accomplish.

The book comes with 7 modules that are completely detailed and complimented with recommended foods and exercise.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it has inspired me to continue to lose weight. With changing eating habits and adding exercise I have lost 60 pounds in 24 weeks! I was excited to begin the 4 day diet to get those last 30 pounds off and I am on day 2 and still going! The mental preparation he talks about is right on! Very helpful! Hoping for great results!

Dr Ian Smith is such a wonderful inspiration. I read and started this program while following his 50 million pound challenge and have seen some great results.
